Marine Patrol Unit
Two full–time operators serve as the Islamorada Marine Unit. The Marine Unit is responsible for approximately 50 miles of shoreline and the miles of inland canals within the Village. The Marine Unit operates with a philosophy that promoting compliance and boating safety through education is superior to harsh enforcement; however, the unit is charged with enforcing nautical laws and village ordinances and does so rigorously when appropriate. The unit works closely with residents, organizations, and neighborhood associations to preserve nearshore water environmental resources and improve boater safety.

Identity Theft Is One Of The Fastest-Growing Scams Today
If you are a Victim of Identity Theft
Contact the fraud department of each of the three major credit bureaus. Request that your credit file be “flagged” with a fraud alert. This will require any future creditors to contact you personally before opening any new accounts. In addition, you should request a copy of your personal credit report and review it to ensure that no additional fraud has occurred.

You should also be aware of another scam that is currently going on. Keep a watch out for people standing near you at retail stores, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. that have a cellular telephone. With camera cell phones they can take a picture of your credit card, which gives them your name, number, and expiration date. So be aware of your surroundings.
