Lissette has fourteen years of law enforcement experience with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Lissette is the new District Commander for the Village of Islamorada. Lissette’s law enforcement experience started as a road patrol Deputy Sheriff in the Lower Keys District. She transitioned to the Major Crimes Unit as a Detective and a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children, Cyber Investigations Unit. Lissette was an Investigator in the Internal Affairs Division. She was promoted to Road Patrol Sergeant in the City of Marathon. She became the Detective Sergeant for the Criminal Investigations Units in Key Largo, Islamorada and the City of Marathon. Lissette was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and was the Station Commander in the Lower Keys District. She transferred to the City of Marathon as the Station Commander and the Acting Captain. Lissette promoted to Captain shortly after working in Marathon.

Lissette is also the Crisis Negotiations Team and the Threat Management Teams Commander countywide. She is a member of the FDLE Child Abduction Response Team (CART) and a member of the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) with the Florida Council against Sexual Violence. Lissette is a member of the Regional Domestic Security Task Force (RDSTF.) Lissette was a member of the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Interagency Team in the lower and middle keys. Lissette is a certified First Aid instructor for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and an FDLE general instructor at the College of the Florida Keys. In addition to her Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responsibilities, she is an alumnus of Leadership Monroe County, she volunteers with Special Olympics, Board Member for Wesley House and she is a Board Member for Christina’s Courage, the only rape and crisis center in the Florida Keys.
