Venue: Founders Park Community Center 87000 Overseas Highway, Islamorada, FL 33036
Event: Red Dot/Green Dot Exercise
As part of the “Discovery” stage of the community-driven master planning process for the Fills, CPH, Inc. will host an open house for citizens to come and participate at their leisure in a Red Dot / Green Dot Exercise in order to provide their preferences regarding potential design improvements.
How does it work?
The Red Dot / Green Dot Exercise is a visualization technique that allows citizens and stakeholders to determine preferences for various community / recreational design, landscape and streetscape alternatives.
Attendees are given sheets of red and green stickers and asked to place green stickers on images they like and red stickers on images they dislike. The images displayed are to include:
  • Boat Ramps
  • Kayak Launch Areas
  • Parking Options
  • Overlooks
  • Trail Enhancements
  • Safety Improvements
  • Restroom Facilities
  • Pavilions
The Consultant Team will quantify the Dot results, identify favorable and non-favorable images, and use the images in developing the proposed Master Plan.
The Red Dot / Green Dot Exercise, in addition to the one-on-one stakeholder interviews,
questionnaire, and project web site, provides invaluable input in the development of design
alternatives for the Master Plan.
Please join us at a time convenient to you between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Founders Park Community Center to provide your input on "The Fills" Master Plan. Learn more at
The Fills is the area composed of Tea Table Fill, Indian Key Fill, and Lignumvitae Key Fill located between mile marker 79.6 and 77.7. The Master Planning process will produce a Village Council-adopted action plan that articulates our community’s vision for the Fills and sets forth how we will bring the vision to life as we protect public health and safety, conserve our natural and historical resources, facilitate appropriate resource-based public outdoor recreational uses and enhance our quality of life.
The Master Plan is slated to be finalized in April 2022. We encourage everyone in the community to be a part of this master planning effort.
