RESIDENTS SOUGHT FOR LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY, LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE AND ACHIEVABLE HOUSING COMMITTEE

VILLAGE COUNCIL SEEKS RESIDENTS TO SERVE ON THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY,
LANDSCAPE ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND ACHIEVABLE HOUSING COMMITTEE

Village Council Members are seeking residents with the applicable knowledge and the time to volunteer to serve on a Village Committee or the Local Planning Agency. There is one vacancy on the Local Planning Agency, one on the Landscape Advisory Committee and one on the Achievable Housing Citizens’ Advisory Committee.

The Local Planning Agency (LPA) has the responsibility to hear, review, and make recommendations to the Village Council on proposed amendments to the Village's Land Development Regulations, Comprehensive Plan and Official Zoning Map. The LPA meets on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m.

The Landscape Advisory Committee provides input on issues related to landscaping and projects involving landscaping on Village-owned properties and corridors, including assisting with the selection of plants used in projects and landscape design. The committee meets on a quarterly basis on the second Tuesday of the month at 2:00 p.m.

There is a vacancy on the Achievable Housing Citizens’ Advisory Committee. has the responsibility to research and make recommendations to the Village Council regarding the preservation and enhancement of workforce and affordable housing in Islamorada. The Committee generally meets quarterly on the third Monday of the month at 5:00 p.m.

You must be a resident of Islamorada to serve on the LPA or a committee.
