Islamorada Nature Walks and Talks:
Join Keys Naturalist Susan Kolterman on Tuesday, December 6th at Green Turtle Hammock Preserve MM 81.2, and Monday, December 19th at Windley Key Geological State Mark MM 84.9 (Additional Park Entrance Fees $2.50 to be paid at Windley Key) from 8:30am-10:00am. $8.00 per person. Enjoy a walk in one of Islamorada’s Nature Parks and talk about the flora and fauna of the Florida Keys, as well as butterfly and bird traits! Wild Coffee Nature Lecture Series:
December 14th from 8:30 to 10:00am located at the Founders Park Community Center. $10.00 per person. A new monthly nature lecture series with Florida Keys Naturalist Susan Kolterman on Flora and Fauna, Birds, Butterflies and Gardening in the Florida Keys! Enjoy coffee and refreshments as you learn about this month’s topic: Identifying Keys Trees Through Their Bark, Trunk Appearances and Textures. Pre-registration required. Founders Freediving Program:
Two-day course on the fundamentals of the FII education system in an easy-to-learn course format between classroom, pool and open water setting. With a high emphasis on freedive safety training and technique development, students master the proper skills to effectively freedive up to depths of 66 feet/20 meters.
