NEW Programs for Adults 55+
WHAT’S BOOMING AT FOUNDERS PARK?

The first of the new programs – Nature Walks and Bird ID Classes begin in November.
Nature Walks will be held twice a month on Thursdays from 9:30am-11am. Nature Walk participants can increase their knowledge of the flora and fauna of the Florida Keys and Everglades National Parks and learn about responsible stewardship of our natural resources during walks with Florida Keys Naturalist Susan Kolterman. Class Locations will include the Green Turtle Hammock Preserve, Anne’s Beach, Plantation Tropical Preserve Plantation Hammock Preserve.
Bird ID Class participants will enjoy a leisurely walk in the Park with Peter Frezza, Islamorada's Environmental Resources Manager, and Bob Showler, Retired Ranger-Naturalist with Everglades National Park. Class will begin with a short introduction on birds of the Islamorada area, followed by identification and discussing traits and habits of the birds that are observed. Binoculars and a bird field guide (if you have one) are recommended.
