NOTICE:  As a result of the damage and ongoing debris removal from Hurricane Irma on September 10, 2017, some parks are closed and some have limited access. Please see information provided below for the current status of each park.


Islamorada’s Parks, Beaches, and Green spaces.

LIBRARY BEACH PARK
MM 81.5 Bayside
Library Park Beach
Park Hours: Sunrise to Sunset

This park features a small beach overlooking a mangrove-lined creek, a playground for the kids, a pavilion equipped with grills for BBQing, outdoor shower, and public restrooms. Swim at your own risk. No dogs permitted. No motor boats or PWC. No fishing.
The park is fully restored and accessible for use.

 

ANNE’S BEACH
MM 73.5 Oceanside
Anne's BeachBeach Hours: Sunrise to Sunset

This beach has little to no wave action and offers a shallow swimming area great for young children and dogs. Anne’s Beach also features a paved parking area, boardwalk, covered picnic tables, and public restrooms. Swim at your own risk. Dogs permitted; must be leashed.
No motor boats or PWC. No fishing.

Due to extensive damage to the beach, boardwalk and restrooms, the park and beach will remain closed until further notice.  

SOUTHWINDS PARK
MM 82.1

Southwinds ParkPark Hours: 8:00 a.m. to Sunset

This passive Park has a paved memorial and fishing heritage walkway, parking area and hosts events operated by the Islamorada Foundation. 
No public restrooms. No dogs permitted.
The park is essentially restored and
accessible for use.

 



PLANTATION HAMMOCK PRESERVE
MM 87 Bayside and Oceanside
PHP


Park Hours:
Sunrise to Sunset

Passive park equipped with benches and nature trails. Public restrooms at adjacent Founders Park. No dogs permitted; must be leashed.
No motor boats or PWC.

Due to damages park is closed until further notice.               

 



PLANTATION TROPICAL PRESERVE
MM 90.8
PTP

Park Hours: Sunrise to Sunset

Passive park featuring a kayak launch, nature trail, pathway, gazebo, Children’s Memorial Garden, picnic tables, and a paved parking area. No public restrooms. Dogs permitted; must be leashed.
The park is fully restored and accessible for use. The kayak ramp is open for use.



GREEN TURTLE HAMMOCK NATURE PRESERVE
MM 81.2 Bayside
Green Turtle Hammock House
Park Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Passive park featuring nature trails, a kayak launch, a playground, and picnic tables. Dogs permitted; must be leashed. Portable restrooms onsite.  
The park is open to the public with limited access to nature trails at present. Kayak launch is open for use.

 


KEY TREE CACTUS PRESERVE

Key Tree Cactus Nature Preserve


Park Hours:
8:00 a.m. to Sunset

Passive park featuring a paved pathway, a play structure, picnic tables, and benches.

No public restrooms. No dogs permitted.
The park is open and accessible for use.
